Specializing in sushi and a wide array of Asian-inspired dishes, this restaurant seamlessly blends traditional flavors with modern flair, creating a dining experience that is both familiar and exciting.
At Hinata Sushi Kitchen, the menu is a celebration of fresh, thoughtfully prepared seafood and savory small plates. Guests consistently praise the Omakase Nigiri Set—a chef’s curated selection that delivers a masterclass in texture and taste with every bite. The elegant Uni Sea Urchin captures the rich, buttery essence of the ocean, while the Soft Shell Crab Tempura boasts a perfect crispness, complementing its delicate, sweet meat. Signature rolls such as the Lion King Roll, Volcano Roll, and Super Spider Roll are crowd-pleasers, artfully balancing bold flavors and fresh ingredients to delight the palate.
Beyond sushi, Hinata’s skewers—like the Beef Skewers, Scallop Skewer, and Pork Belly Chicken—add a savory depth, and small dishes such as Takoyaki, Miso Soup, and Caramelized Eggplant provide satisfying variety and perfect pauses between bites. The kitchen’s attention to detail elevates each plate, inviting diners to savor layers of umami, texture, and aroma.
The atmosphere at Hinata Sushi Kitchen earns just as much praise as the food. Customers describe it as calm, cozy, and beautifully designed—perfect for intimate nights out or lively gatherings. Though some express a wish for more window seating options, the attentive service and warm ambiance more than compensate, creating a welcoming space where you can truly unwind. As one delighted guest put it, the environment fosters “many more cozy Saturday sushi nights,” a testament to the restaurant’s inviting vibe.

This place used to be a different all you can eat restaurant. This is now Hinata which is all you can eat as well but it’s a smaller selection of rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, sashimi, skewers, and small appetizers plates for $41.99 each person so don’t come here full. If you don’t want to have the AYCE, don’t come here. The whole table or anyone that comes here spends the same amount. Drinks are not included. They also offer alcohol drinks. They also offer small bowls of ramen but I would not go here for ramen. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor by the Cinemark Hayward 16 movie theater. There is an elevator available for handicapped folks. Easy to find. Plenty of street parking or at the free parking lot across the street or the free garage parking in the back. The staff are helpful but they don’t remember who orders what and just puts it on the table. The best one to order here is the Omakase Box which has fresh fish selection. These are the best selection they have. I can just have this but make sure to ask for it. Decent and clean place. Great for large groups as they have plenty of tables. Good for receptions. Came here twice so far for lunch and a dinner but can’t do this often as I feel, I have to eat everything to pay this amount.
Solid AYCE sushi spot. The fish dishes were fresh and well prepared. The omakase box was chef’s kiss. I also tried the mini ramen and enjoyed it, and the meat dishes were solid too. They have free parking in the back, and it’s also an easy walk to Hayward BART
I was a little bummed that only bigger parties were allowed to sit near the window, but the quality of everything I ate (right down to the grilled eggplant) was sublime, and the service was exceptional. Will definitely be returning to have many more cozy Saturday Sushi nights here!
Decent food and not overpriced! No wait if you come at 4pm on the weekend. The mane item is a little limited, otherwise it’s pretty good for the price. The skewer sometimes over cooked, too dry.
My friends this place is amazing, came for dinner it is super beautiful the atmosphere is amazing calm and enjoyable. Now the foood I could cry if I could it was very delicious we enjoyed our sushi!! We also ordered sushi that had zero soy so what's stopping yall to come to this place!! Nothing . I loved the service they are really amazing and I wish I could give them a 10 star !!
Hinata Sushi Kitchen is honestly one of the best finds I’ve ever made. The price is about $35 per person, which is such a great deal considering the quality of sushi you get. They have this omakase box that comes with the best cuts, and they even give one free box for the whole table. They don’t skimp on anything, and everything tastes fresh and perfectly prepared. I love that the service is super fast and smooth, and the restaurant never really feels too crowded, even on special occasions. I’ve been there about seven times already, and every visit has been just as enjoyable as the first. I honestly never get tired of it. The vibe of the place is also really fun and welcoming. I’ve even won two plushies from their claw machine, which was such a cute bonus. The chefs are clearly skilled and passionate about what they do, and the wait staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They even remember us by name now, which makes it feel personal and special every time we visit. Between the amazing sushi, the great service, and the fun little extras, Hinata Sushi Kitchen has quickly become one of my favorite spots. I can’t recommend it enough.
